If you've visited the shop you might know that we love history. Some of our customers are involved in living history groups and Rochester has regular festivals where people take to the streets in historical costume. We are surrounded by authentic artifacts in the shop and are always keen to use them to help educate young people about British history.
This all came together nicely a couple of weeks ago, when we visited one of our local schools. St Andrews Infants had been studying the Victorian period so we took five of our regular customers to meet the children dressed in traditional Victorian style, outfitted in a cross section of costume pieces of the period.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, they asked loads of very pertinent questions and their enthusiasm and touching thank you notes made it all worth while.
A huge thank you to our friends who made it such an enjoyable afternoon, not just for the children, but for us here at Fieldstaffs.
